WHY YOU MUST BE PATIENT POTTY TRAINING A DOG

Truly it could be frustrating potty training a dog for a new dog owner. You need to train your dog to stay indoor, when to visit the bathroom and other stuffs you need to make your dog accustomed to. It takes time to get these stuffs done. In this article, i will share with you why you need to be patient potty training your dog.
One of the patient attribute you need to adopt is never to punish your dog or shout at the poor dog! These gestures are surely not the best way to correct then when they go wrong. Remember the sensitivity of these animals. Most dogs will actually wait outside for you till you allow them in and then they relieve themselves due to the fact that that is what they have become accustomed to. The best thing you can do is trying to catch them in the act, giving them a stern No to them and then taking them for a walk. When you shout at them or punish them, they will get scared of you instead of being familiar with you.
Let me share with you a patient way of potty training your dog. Allocate a particular spot in your house as your dogs bathroom, lay down some used newspapers and every hour or whatever time you noticed your dog does its thing, take it to the spot allocated (with used newspaper laid) and use your command word to tell it to go potty. Doing this patiently and consistently will pay off in the long run because after some time, the dog will get used to it and will continue doing it even without your command! Keep an eye on the dog for signs of wanting to urinate or defecate and command it to go to the spot; you will be surprised at how used to the spot the dog will become over time.
Potty training a dog is not such a difficult thing to do, but it takes time and patience with your dog to be a success. Once your dog is accustomed to go outside to relieve itself, you can spend more time just enjoying the company your dog brings to you.
