How To Potty Train A Dog Successfully

Potty training a dog successfully can be easy if you follow the right process and it could be such a gargantuan task if done the wrong way! In this article, I will show you how to train your dog successfully.

Dogs have become man`s best friends so when training them, you should do it with care and love. Truly, dogs are lovely animals but they could become messy when they urinate or defecate in the house. Actually, there are various ways to potty train a dog but the truth is that in all of them, there are two major things that are regular.
The first thing is that when you intend to train a dog, it must be done from the puppy stage. You definitely do not want to train your dog when it is old. When you get your puppy, that is the time at which you should start training it so that as it grows, it becomes accustomed to the training give to it. If you leave the potty training till the dog is old. Then you will have to do it the hard way! So make sure you train your dog from the puppy level.

The second thing that is constant in potty training any dog is that after successfully training the dog, you will end up with a well trained dog that does all you have trained it to do.

All these said and done, let me go to the main issue (how to potty train a dog successfully). In training any dog (remember we said it must be done at the puppy level), you need to realize that puppies like to relieve themselves quite often and they do it virtually anywhere when they are not cautioned. But when you have mastered the art of training a dog, you find it similar to that of potty training a baby. The truth is that you must be watchful, consistent and you must do it with care. You should be accustomed to your dogs actions when they are about to ease themselves or defecate. Most dogs like scratching the ground when they feel like defecating and most dogs like sniffing the ground when they feel like urinating. Watch your dog`s actions and make it a duty to take it to its potty spot on regular basis. In no time, your dog will become used to it!

Furthermore, you should never shout at or hit your dog when it relieves itself in an inappropriate spot (would you shout at or hit your baby if it does the same). Correct it with care. Do not hit or smack your dog, it makes it feel unsafe with you. You should stop it with a stern "NO" or 'STOP" (if you catch it doing such) and take it to the potty spot immediately. You could use the compensation method; that is; you compensate it with a snack or something when it urinates or defecates at the right spot without you taking it there. This encourages the dog to do such on regular basis.

Like I said earlier, the major things you should consider while training your dog is to be consistent, watchful, compensate it when it does it willingly at the right spot, correct it with love and in no time, your dog will be your best friend relieving itself at the right spot at the right time.

Potty training a dog is not such a gargantuan task to do when you have the right potty training guide. You definitely can train your dog in less than seven days. All you have to do is get a detailed potty training guide for your dog. Fore more tips and a detailed potty training guide, CLICK HERE
