Dogs are truly lovely animals to be with but if they left to do as they wish, they could become a nuisance. What steps then can one take to train a dog in such a way that it does what you command it to do? In this article, i will share with you simple tips on how you can give your dog proper house training!
You should realize that when you are training your dogs about where to urinate or defecate, you need to be very patient. You should never shout or punish them so don’t get traumatized.
First and foremost, anytime you are taking a walk with your dog, try to always have a kind of reward pack with you. It could be a bag of dog treats or whatever you decide to reward your dog with. You will need this so you can reward your dog whenever he responds to your command when it has to do with urinating or defecating.
Secondly, you should have a dog repellent in your home. This will send your dogs away from our furniture or carpets. With this, your dog does not stand the chance of messing it up. You can find loads of repellent out there that have offensive odors to dogs but not to humans.
Thirdly, whenever you give your dog an order to ease itself and it does not do so within a period of five minutes, lock it up in a cage for minimum of thirty minutes and then give it a try again. This sends a message to the dog!
Furthermore, accustom your dog to a certain command. Let it be used to a command for "PEE" and a command for "DEFECATE" such that it knows what to do when you say a command. Be sure the command words are short and definite! When it is used to these commands, it will surely obey them!
